Chinese college entrance exam is a exam for senior high school students or adults who want to continue their study in colleges. It is a way of selecting talents for china, and the applicant can go for the college what their score can match, so if the more higher your score is, the greater college you can get in. It is a very important exam for chinese high school students, it can more or less decide their future career and life. Also for this, the exam brings more burden and pressure to the students. China as a country with a big population, this way of choosing talents is much acceptable.
College entrance examination is much different from other exams. It can be a big affair for the majority of chinese students. It is reported by Ministry of Education that there are 10.2 million students having registered this year, which is much less than last year. The rate of college admission can reach 62 percent, which is 5 percentage points higher than last year. It is said by Media earlier that the number of senior students in high school which give up their opportunity to enter college is still increasing, they are either starting to look for job, or go aboard to continue their study. Official statistics show some 6.1 million students will graduate into the job market this year, adding to the woes of 1 million graduates of 2007 and 1.5 million of 2008 who still haven't found a job.
Due to the importance of exam, it creats a lot of pressure to the students. every parents would like their children pass the entrance exam and get admission letter from a more better college. However, there is no enough colleges in china for all the high school students to get in, so the university entrance examination is very stringent. Some may say that pressure also can be transferred into motiviation to stimulate them to study more hard and learn more knowledge than the situation of no pressure. Actually, I think the pressure is great enough to hurt any young heart, we can not just judge whether entering college by one exam, there still have many other ways to discover talents.
